About PowerGlide
About Powerglide
Rex Williams, a professional billiards and snooker player, started Powerglide in 1968 with his brother Ken to make cues. Williams won the World Professional Billiards Championship several times and chaired the sport's world governing body, the WPBSA. Powerglide later added cue tips, chalk and cue care products to its cues.
What is Powerglide known for?
Powerglide is best known for its snooker and pool cues. Stephen Hendry played with a Powerglide cue for most of his career, until it was broken in transit in 2003.
Which Powerglide range suits you?
Ash cues. Most of the Powerglide cues we stock have ash shafts, in 2-piece (Diplomat, Hampton, Exios, Calibre, Eclipse, Catalyst, Aero), 3/4 split (Status, Swerve, Viscount, Paramount) and 3-piece (Lion, Mentor) builds. Several come with a 6" extension, including the Diplomat, Hampton, Swerve, Vinci, Viscount and Executive.
Maple cues. The Burner, Burner II and Skyline are 2-piece cues with maple shafts.
Fibreglass, graphite and carbon composite cues. The Noir and Estrella are fibreglass, the Stratus is graphite, and the Ignis, Luxe and Emanate are carbon composite, for players who want a cue that isn't timber.
Cases and accessories. Svartur cases hold 2-piece and 3/4 split cues, and Skuba sleeves hold 1-piece and 2-piece 57" cues. Push-on and screw-on telescopic extensions add reach, the 6 in 1 Shaper is a cue tip tool, and the Accessory Wallet holds small cue accessories.
