Description

The Powerglide Prism is a 57in two-piece snooker cue on an enhanced-grain ash shaft, with a machine-spliced rosewood butt, a four-point rosewood front splice and yellow veneers. The shaft measures 71cm and the butt 74cm, and the grains are matched at the joint so the cue reads as one piece once assembled.

Matched grain is more than a cosmetic detail on a snooker cue: the feathering in ash gives a player a visual line to sight along, and a joint that breaks that line makes it harder to check the cue is square behind the ball. A brass ferrule carries the 9.5mm tip and spreads impact load away from the shaft timber, which is what stops the end of an ash shaft splitting over years of play.
